An Attitude for Gratitude
Welcome to November, a month that reminds us to slow down, reflect, and embrace the many blessings that surround us. This month, the Sisterhood of the Traveling Canes is embracing the theme Attitude for Gratitude, because gratitude is more than a feeling; it is a mindset and a choice we can make every day. Life may not always take us down the paths we planned, and every journey comes with its own challenges, but there is always something beautiful to appreciate along the way. We are thankful for the strength within us, the friendships that uplift us, the encouragement we receive, and the sisterhood that reminds us we never have to travel life’s journey alone. As we move through this month, let’s be intentional about celebrating the little things, appreciating one another, spreading kindness, and choosing joy. Remember, sisters, a positive attitude and a grateful heart can make even the toughest journey a little brighter. Let’s make November a month of gratitude, love, laughter, and sisterly connection!
Weekly Themes
Week 1: Gratitude Starts With Me. This week is about looking within and recognizing the blessings we sometimes overlook. Before we can fully appreciate what is around us, we must learn to appreciate who we are, how far we’ve come, and the strength it takes to keep moving forward.
Week 2: Grateful for the Gift of Sisterhood. This week, we celebrate the beautiful gift of friendship and the special bond we share as sisters. We are reminded that having someone who listens, encourages, understands, and believes in us is a blessing worth celebrating.
Week 3: Finding Gratitude in Every Season. Not every season of life is easy, but every season can teach us something. This week encourages us to find the good even during challenging moments, celebrate how far we’ve traveled, and remember that our circumstances do not have to determine our attitude.
Week 4: Living With a Thankful Heart. As we celebrate Thanksgiving, let’s remember that gratitude should not be limited to one holiday or one month. It should become part of how we live, how we treat others, and how we show up for ourselves and our sisterhood. Let’s carry an attitude of gratitude into every day and every new journey ahead.

Wellness Corner with Lily ✨

This month, we’re focusing on appreciating the little things, celebrating ourselves, recognizing the people who make life special, and finding moments of joy along the way.
Gratitude doesn’t mean life is perfect. It means making room to appreciate the good, even when things aren’t always easy.
Week 1: The Little Things Matter. November 1–7
Wellness Tip: Finding Joy in the Everyday. Sometimes we get so caught up in the big things that we forget to appreciate the little moments. Take time to notice what makes you smile, brings you comfort, or makes an ordinary day a little brighter.
Wellness Challenge: The Gratitude Three. Each day, identify three little things you’re grateful for. They can be as simple as your favorite coffee, a good song, a funny conversation, or a comfortable evening at home.
Week 2: Gratitude Starts With Me. November 8–14
Wellness Tip: Give Yourself Some Credit. We often celebrate everyone around us but forget to celebrate ourselves. Take a moment to recognize your growth, accomplishments, resilience, and the things that make you uniquely you.
Wellness Challenge: Give Yourself Some Credit. Every day this week, identify one thing you appreciate about yourself. It could be a personal quality, something you’ve accomplished, or a challenge you’ve overcome.
Week 3: People, Connections & Community. November 15–21
Wellness Tip: The Power of Connection. Taking time to appreciate the people in our lives can strengthen relationships and remind us that we’re not navigating life alone. A simple thank-you, phone call, or thoughtful message can make someone’s day.
Wellness Challenge: Spread a Little Gratitude. Reach out to someone who has made a positive difference in your life. Let them know you appreciate them. It could be a friend, family member, fellow sister, or someone who helped you when you needed it most
Week 4: Finding Gratitude in the Unexpected. November 22–28
Wellness Tip: Making Room for the Good and the Bad. Life doesn’t always follow the plans we make. Sometimes unexpected changes and difficult experiences teach us things we never anticipated. Remember, you can be grateful for what you have while still wishing for something different. Both feelings can exist together.
Wellness Challenge: The Silver Lining. Think about an unexpected situation or challenge you’ve experienced. Reflect on what you learned, how you grew, or what strength you discovered in yourself. You don’t have to find a positive in everything. Just give yourself space to reflect.
Fun Activities
For each week of this month, you can participate in one of these fun activities with the Sisterhood!
Week 1: Share one song that makes you happy, lifts your spirits, or brings back a wonderful memory. Let’s create a Sisterhood gratitude playlist!
Week 2: If you could describe your personality or life using a dessert, what would it be and why? Are you cheesecake because you’re a little extra? A brownie because you’re sweet with a few layers? Or maybe a gingerbread cookie because you’ve got some attitude? Share your answer with the sisters!
Week 3: Give a shoutout to a fellow sister! Share something you appreciate about her, a funny memory you’ve shared, or something she’s done that made you smile. Let’s spread some sisterly love!
Week 4: Thanksgiving Table Talk. Let’s have some fun with a few questions!
- What’s one Thanksgiving food you absolutely cannot live without?
- What’s one dish you could happily never see again?
- Are you team leftovers or team fresh Thanksgiving dinner?
- What’s your most memorable or funniest Thanksgiving story?
Final Remarks
As we close out this month of gratitude, may we remember that being thankful is not just something we practice in November; it is an attitude we carry with us throughout the year. May we continue to uplift one another, celebrate each other’s victories, offer encouragement during difficult moments, and never underestimate the power of a kind word or a loving friendship. Each of us brings something special to this sisterhood, and together we create a community rooted in love, strength, understanding, and support. As we move forward, let’s continue to travel with grateful hearts, positive attitudes, and a commitment to making every sister feel seen, valued, and appreciated. Thank you for being part of this beautiful journey. Keep shining, keep smiling, keep encouraging, and most importantly, keep that attitude of gratitude!
With love, gratitude, and sisterhood,
The Sisterhood of the Traveling Canes
